 | The wall hanging celebrates quilting and stitchery. Stitcheries on the piece include flowers, needles and pins, tape measures, hearts. The stitchery is mostly very simple backstitch, small areas of Satin stitch ( little hearts etc). Y Introducing ..Y "Up and Down Buttonhole Stitch" 
A beautiful but seldom described stitch, explained very clearly, with diagrams etc. The wall hanging measures 34inches x 43inches approx .A picot edging made from two pieces of fabric is around the central core and again on the outside edge .the fabrics are soft floral and the background fabric for the stitcheries is a mottled "Aubrey Rose" by Robyn Pandolph Craft Haven of Berwick, Candleberry Country and Gippsbeary Cottage are familiar with the piece and can supply fabrics mail order to suit.( see stockists page on "News page ) | |

There are now six faded roses..the latest... above is "Fair Rosamund" I am very interested in the art of the Pre-Raphaelites and the Arts and Crafts movement generally, and these stitcheries are my admittedly singular response to the movement. |
